Currently, the site consists of a 10 storey building and the Client intends to construct a new 12 storey adjacent to the building, adjoining the new and existing structures into the new hotel. The new Doubletree Hotel will house 232 rooms and facilities of a 5star hotel. The existing building is vacant except for a shopping centre which is fully operational. The extent of works to be undertaken will be substantial and include:
-
demolition of the existing foundations adjacent to the existing building;
-
excavation of two new basements;
-
construction of a new 12 floor structure, integrating it with the existing structure;
-
major elevation makeover of the existing building to suit the project profile;
-
construction of 2 additional floors above the existing structure;
-
complete replacement and upgrade of all building services including air conditioning; and
-
complete fitout works to suit Hilton Doubletree
The project is in design phase and had been running with a different project management company when Confluence was appointed to take over the project. During the course of the works, existing tenants on the lower floors of the shopping center will remain in operation.
