Following the Singapore Sports Council's success with securing the first even night race on the F1circuit, the government agency is now moving towards the creation of a sustainable motorsports industry in Singapore.
A consortia headed by Confluence has been appointed to develop the bid documentation and manage the appointment of a private sector provider who will be responsible for the delivery and management of a Grade 2 motor racing circuit and ancillary facilities. Upon completion, the private sector operator will be responsible for the operation of the FIA standard facility in accordance with a management framework developed by Confluence and our other consortia partners.
The motorsports hub will also consist of grandstands, media centre, paddocks, pit garages, F&B outlets, clubhouses etc. The first race on the new circuit has been targeted for June 2011.
