Marina Bay Sands™ in Singapore’s downtown will soon be home to the world’s most majestic integrated resort. The US$ 5.5 billion development is being built from the ground up at the Marina Bay waterfront.
As a member of the project management consortium for the 15.5 ha site, Confluence plays a significant role in building this iconic integrated resort and keeping the massive project on track for completion in early 2010.
The resort’s design by visionary architect Moshe Safdie will add a new dimension to Singapore’s skyline that clearly distinguishes it from other cities. Marina Bay Sands™ will play a major role in boosting Singapore’s position as a premier destination for leisure and business visitors.
Marina Bay Sands™ is being developed by Nevada-based hotel, gaming, resort exhibition and convention company Las Vegas Sands Corp. Top of the ‘must see’ list for visitors would be the Museum with a rooftop reminiscent of a lotus flower and the Sands SkyPark™ that stretches over 1.2 ha creating a tropical oasis in the middle of the city.
The list of facilities is endless. Three 55-storey cascading hotel towers capped by the Sands SkyPark™ with approximately 2,500 rooms. An Expo and Convention Centre capable of accommodating 45,000 delegates. Retail space featuring a refreshing mix of world-class luxury brands and cutting edge emerging labels. Two theatres with 4,000 seats in total, celebrity chef restaurants, exciting nightclubs... With a built area of 57 ha, Marina Bay Sands™ is shaping up to be Asia’s premier business and leisure destination.
Delivering such a multi-faceted project within four years is a big challenge. It demands problem solving and strategic expertise. Confluence is playing an integral role in fast tracking everything from procurement and delivery to commissioning and hand over.
