Monday, 3 May 2010

Confluence was engaged by Developer OPUS Hotels to project manage the construction of Doubletree Hotel by Hilton in Bangalore CBD.

Currently, the site consists of a 10 storey building and the Client intends to construct a new 12 storey  adjacent to the existing building, adjoining the new and existing structures into the new hotel. The new Doubletree Hotel will house 232 rooms and facilities of a 5star hotel.  The existing building is currently vacant except for a shopping centre which is fully operational.

The extent of works to be undertaken will be substantial and include:

  • demolition of the existing foundations adjacent to the existing building;
  • excavation of two new basements;
  • construction of a new 12 floor structure, integrating it with the existing structure;
  • major elevation makeover of the existing building to suit the project profile;
  • construction of 2 additional floors above the existing structure;
  • complete replacement and upgrade of all building services including air conditioning; and
  • complete fitout works to suit Hilton Doubletree.

The project is in design phase and had been running with a different project management company when Confluence was appointed to take over the project. During the course of the works, existing tenants on the lower floors of the shopping center will remain in operation.

Doubletree is a full service hotel brand of Hilton with contemporary design and upscale accommodation. Hilton has aggressive plans to develop this brand and this project is among the first three Doubletree hotels planned in India.

The project is targeted for completion by Quarter Four 2011 with a soft opening due in Quarter Two of 2011.
