Project Overview:
Aside from the impressive façade, the iconic status of this prestigious hotel is strengthened by the celebrated individuals that have and continue to grace its corridors. Confluence was appointed to conduct refurbishment feasibility and subsequent project management.
Working with New York interior designer, Adam D. Tihany, and other consultants, the plans included soft refurbishment of 173 guest rooms, replacing guest room riser services, constructing new food and beverage outlets and fitness facilities, including a swimming pool.
Situation/Challenges:
- With the hotel remaining operational throughout the works, minimal disturbance and a strict public safety strategy are priorities.
- Works to be aligned with completion of the neighbouring residential development, the ultra-prestigious One Hyde Park, which coincidentally will be linked to the hotel via a tunnel.
Outcome/Results:
With the opening of food and beverage venues, Bar Bouloud (Daniel Bouloud) and Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, to accolades of the media, the refurbishment of this marvellous Mandarin Oriental property is ongoing.
