Project Overview:
Confluence was engaged by the Ministry of Finance as their Project Manager to deliver the temporary facilities for the IMF/ World Bank Annual Meeting in Singapore – an event commonly referred to as the ‘The Financial Olympics’.
Situation/Challenges:
The meetings involved the construction of over 1,000 temporary meeting rooms within the Suntec Singapore Exhibition and Convention Centre for the estimated 16,000 attending delegates for the three day event. Everything was assembled in 35 days and dismantled in nine days.
Outcome/Results:
After three years of planning, the event was a great success. Confluence kept large number of stakeholders happy by holding pre-planning workshops to establish clear, mutually agreed objectives.
The project was completed within the prescribed budget and was handed over 3 days ahead of schedule in September 2006.
